MG Training Class Helpers

Volunteers for the MG Training class will help with attendance and grade participants homework.  During the presentations, when we finish homework grading, we'll be able to meet with the participants socially during breaks and listen to presentations, if time allows.

Your time might be split between volunteer and education.  On Pace you will record your hours under Master Gardener Intern Training.  We'll have more information on that by the second class and will keep you updated.

Christ Church Methodist Farmers' Market Thursdays

Twilight Farmers' Markets on select Thursday evenings during the summer.  Interact with the public answering gardening questions.  Available Materials will be free seeds, potentially free plants, recipe cards, and access to digital Tip Table information.

We’ll have a fun discussion on “Braiding Sweetgrass” by Robin Kimmerer. This book explores relationships between humans and the land with a focus on the role of plants and botany in both Native American and Western traditions. Come join us at the St Matthews library on June18th at 7 pm!

We will be in the Woodland Garden each Monday 9-11 am from March through October, weather permitting.

Please email ? with any questions or if you plan on joining us.

Weather permitting means: no working in the rain or when the temperature is less than 40 degrees or greater than 90 degrees fahrenheit.

We would love to have your help!

There is to be only 1 Master Gardener at each Garden Site during each shift.

From Vine to Wine Field trip!!

Experience Kentucky’s wine culture from the vine to the bottle. If you are a wine lover, don’t miss this date! 

Please join us for a tour of Joe Soloman’s wine farm, located in bucolic Shelbyville, Ky.  This will count towards your CEU hours. The event includes a review of his vineyard grapes, his winemaking process, and a tasting on his patio. 

There is a limit of 30 master gardeners, no plus ones.  Please, please consider carpooling.

Date: Thursday, June 6, 2024    Time: 4-6 pm      Rain cancels the tour.
