Winter Seed Sowing - Newburg Library - 1/29/25 6 - 7:30pm

Donavan Moore, our JCES agent has approved ‘The Language of Flowers’ for CEU –  The approved text (several books are under the same title) is authored by Vanessa Diffenbaugh.  This is very much a novel, but because each plant/flower is defined with Latin nomenclature and  Victorian symbolic meaning, it is also a study of Latin and its relevance to botany.  Because of that, it has been approved for 2.5 hours of CEU for reading and participating in the book club discussion.

LFPL has two copies in circulation, Amazon Offers it in paperback at approximately $10, and via Kindle for free.  If you have a copy you’d like to share, please let us know!

Our first 2025 book club discussion will be on Wednesday, March 19th, 11:30am at CHPC.

If you are interested in participating in the book club discussion as either a participant or a leader sign-up here: CLICK Here

Can’t make a daytime discussion?  Please let Mary Wheatley know and an evening or weekend meeting will be scheduled.

JCMGA Project Fair & Social Time at Waterfront Botanical Garden

Come Join us at WBG’s Graeser Family Education Center for an evening of food, friends, and JCMGA projects! Last Fall we won the use of the Graeser Center from our presence at their Kaleidoscope Festival. We tried to have an event in April at the Graeser Center but Mother Nature intervened.

We’re trying again! Project leaders will have on display their projects in Science Fair format! You’ll get a passport with each project listed. As you visit each table, learn a bit about the project, and then get your passport stamped! Completely stamped Passports are entered into a drawing at the end of the night.

Hope to see you there!!!
